i’ve done something like this before, but for those that didn’t know, read on.

it’s amazing to think that when i started out with the radio lark, all i had was the pc on a set of drawers, sat on a little wooden stool and a set of headphones with a boom mic (no existing pics). i then progressed to a seperate mic, and bought a desk and chair

notice new 'microphone' on home made stand behind screen.

so next up, was a half decent mic and headphones. i also moved the table, so i could link my stereo up to the pc. hell yeah! now i could play vinyl!

still sticking with the curtian rail mic stand. hey! the mic holder fitted it perfectly!

progress moves on…and i took over the running of the station, and as such decided improvements to the ’studio’ were called for. back out, and return with new REAL mic stand, new mic, and mixing desk. not only that, but started to use the laptop too so i can do even more.

getting mighty crowded

it’s at this stage, that i realise there wasn’t space for everything. a drastic change was required. cue desk!

oh the joy! i can breathe again, and room for a pint!

next, the stylus fell apart on the stereo’s turntable. that won’t do. credit card out again! viola, one shiny new turntable!

NOW it looks like a real studio. but the finished article? for now....watch this space!

so that’s it. i’ve gone from an hour show on a saturday, via breakfast shows, to owning the whole shebang, and now it’s 5 hours on a sunday, with ‘on the fly’ requests, live telephone chats to people all around the world. not bad for a fat lad frum tarn eh?

next? well, i’m working on getting a set of speakers, so i can go truly mobile. those and a set of cd decks. but in the meantime i’ll carry on in the way you lot have come to (hopefully) enjoy.

we have a guest presenter now and then! guest? family now.

my eternal thanks go to spider for giving me the chance to play music in the first place, and then let me have the honour of taking over the running last year.

apparently he’s in court on thursday. what he ought to recieve in punishment, is to spend some time in a war zone. letting any squadies use him as their latrine. simple. maybe he’d then think twice about his actions.

one question not asked by any of the papers yesterday (and it was featured in ALL of them) what about the person taking the photo? at no point did it occur to them that it may not be a good idea to relieve himself all over a bunch of poppy wreaths that have managed to stay put, in one piece for nigh on 12 months?

the universiy of sheffield are looking into the occurance to see if it has fetched any disrepute on itself before it decides on any sort of punishment! ffs. talk about a cop out! it will be interesting if anyone turns up at sheffield Magistrates court on thursday to let the young chap know exactly how they feel about it…..thats SHEFFIELD MAGISTRATES COURT. THURSDAY 22ND OCTOBER. WALKING DISTANCE FROM BOTH THE TRAIN STATION AND BUS STATION. TRAMS STOP NEARBY TOO. i’m tempted.
