IS THIS THE REAL LIFE? IS THIS JUST FANTASY?

I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU REMEMBER ME TALKING ABOUT THE ROCK & ROLL LOUNGE.

it’s something i became a part of last october/november time. since then i have played almost every gig they have done. to the extent that “they” are now “we”. the radio side of my dj-ing has taken a back seat whilst this has happened, something i keep promising MYSELF that i will return to in time, doing proper shows, not just replaying what i played at TR&RL gigs.

but i digress…

as the R&RL we have played sheffield, securing a monthly residency (to great acclaim) at The Frog And Parrot.

and anyone who knows me, knows how much sights like those below will bring a huge smile to my face!

rows of scooters outside a pub where i am playing? that alone is a dream come true! (thanks to the lads at the Trojan Drinking Club for that. you’ve a happy new member lads)

we’ve also played manchester’s northern quarter regularly, and even been as far as birkenhead. always on the look out for more gigs*, the boss man was asked if we were available do the following….

of course, he said yes, then asked me along for the ride. what? was i going to turn it down? then a couple of weeks ago, he informed me that he was unable to attend, and would i do it alone? would i? hell yes!

so this weekend, i AM The Rock & Roll Lounge. and what am i doing?

how surreal? 14 months ago i was dj-ing online in my bedroom and at a friends birthday party (cheers Polly). now i am sharing the stage with some of my musical idols!

i am totally buzzing, cannot wait! guest tickets for the enemy and the boy, passes, tent in the staff section, hospitality, the full works!

I MUST END THIS POST AND THANK THE MANY MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN GETTING ME THIS FAR:

firstly the enemy and the boy. without her telling me constantly i have the abilty to do it, i would still be sat here dreaming.

secondly to Polly who gave me my first gig. best birthday party ever!

i MUST include the R&RL boss man, as he gave me my chance when i was disheartened after failures to launch at a local bar. that 1st night at The Washington pub in sheffield where he duped me into playing full vinyl sets… and then took me under his wing. J.M. i owe you big time. we have had some ups and downs these last 10 months or so, but i have come out smiling every time. onwards and upwards. we will succeed.

to absent friends. thank you too. you may not be around any more, and i DO miss you, but one day we will be drunk together again.

and to all those that dance themselves crazy to the tunes i play. your smiles alone a reason to do what i do.
